Book Review: Topalov - Kramnik 2006

On the plane ride to Istanbul this past week, I brought along with me a book published by Russell Enterprises titled: Topalov-Kramnik 2006 World Chess Championship - On the Edge of Elista (fyi - this book will be available at the North Shore Chess Center and also on our website starting in September).

First, the book is an entertaining read that takes you through the twists and turns of what happened leading up to the match that has been dubbed Toiletgate and also the events during the match. Well written, easy to follow, and of course there is analysis of each game in there as well.

The book is filled with copies of the letters from various camps - Topalov, Kramnik, FIDE. You can see the letter where the appeals committees resigned, along with pictures (on page 97 you can see Arbiter Commission Chairman Mr. Takis Nikopoulous who recently was the Chief Lecturer of the 1st Online Arbiters Seminar this month!)

A good read that I recommend you pick up.

Good Chess to All,
